My first song EVER.
I had a nostalgic moment today when someone’s story reminded me of the first song I had ever had a hand in writing. It was the brainchild of myself and good friend David Steinberg in the summer before 6th grade. The original script is lost in my parents’ attic belongings somewhere but basically this is how it went…
Giiiiiirrrl, You know I wanna make you miii-E-iine
and Giiiiiirrrl, You know that (somethin, somethin, somethin) fiiii-E-iine
and Giiiiiirrrl, You know (somethin, somethin, somethin) diviiii-E-iine
and Giiiiiirrrl, I’m floating on cloud niiii-E-iine
…and then basically repeat the same lines over and over 10 to 12 times while replacing the last word of each line with another word that rhymes with -ine.
Our big performance was during our choir class that year. And we argued that we weren’t trying to be a boy band. In retrospect, we probably could have toured with LFO and BBmak.
Either way, ima bring it back and make it a hit.
